Man held for raping minor granddaughter in Vaishali

Patna: A 58-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping his five-year-old granddaughter in Vaishali district. According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother, the incident took place on Friday night when the accused took the child to a nearby bamboo grove and committed the crime. He then gave the child Rs 10 and asked her not to reveal anything.
However, upon reaching home, the child told her mother everything. After this, when the girl's mother and grandmother went to the accused's house, he attacked and chased them away. On Saturday, the family took the girl to the hospital for treatment. Following this, they filed a complaint at the police station.
Mahua SDPO Kumari Durga Shakti said, "A five-year-old girl was raped by her cousin grandfather. As soon as the information was received, the police took action and arrested the accused, and sent him to jail. The police registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS and the POCSO Act."
